The exhibition is part of the "Garden of Inspiration" and will be open from July 19 to August 17, Saturdays and Sundays from 11:00 am to 6:00 pm.
3rd Exhibition of drawings by Wojciech Fangor - a meeting with the art of the master of color and space!
Wojciech Fangor (1922-2015) one of the last great masters of the 20th century. He debuted after World War II with an exhibition of Cubist landscapes and portraits. During the Socialist Realist period, he gained popularity by painting iconic works such as Characters and Korean Mother. He was one of the founders of the Polish Poster School. However, Fangor's best-known works are edgeless painted circles and waves classified as op-art. In 1970, the artist presented paintings from this series in a solo exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum in New York. Wojciech Fangor was also the author of many spatial forms. His experimentation with art was pioneering not only in Poland, but also abroad.
Among works on paper, we can distinguish his great posters from the 1950s, as well as drawings, which have accompanied the artist since the beginning of his artistic career as a separate form of expression, a note or record of concepts for graphic and architectural projects. The exhibition, which is being prepared by the Art Colony, is an attempt to juxtapose classical drawing with modernist drawing often alluding to cubism, surrealism or even primitivism. For the exhibition at Fangorovka, curator Mira Walczykowska has selected drawings in various styles - from nude, still life and landscape to abstract geometric forms.
Fangor's drawings will be on display until August 3 from Wednesday to Sunday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm at the Janówek Villa (Fangorovka). This is also the third accent in the "Garden of Inspiration" series.
Come and expand your senses - see you in the "Garden of Inspiration"! The event will be accompanied by a fair, so everyone will find something for the soul and body!
P.S. At the same time, we would like to inform you that on Saturday, July 19, due to the accumulation of events, the event ticket is valid (44 PLN - normal/32 PLN - reduced). On other days, the price list remains unchanged (20/16 PLN).
