Last Tuesday we hosted His Excellency the Ambassador of Japan Akio Miyajima at the Garden. On a sunny day, accompanied by Vice President of the Polish Academy of Sciences Prof. Romuald Zabielski and the host - Director of the Botanical Garden Prof. Arkadiusz Nowak, the Ambassador toured our Garden, devoting most of his time, of course, to the blooming sakuras, which were the main reason for his visit.

Mr. Ambassador toured the Reiwa Sakura Garden (a collection of Japanese cherry trees), established in 2019, where the cherry tree was planted by his predecessor Tsukasa Kawada and His Imperial Highness the Successor to the Throne Prince Akishino with his wife Her Imperial Highness Princess Kiko. Now it's time for the new ambassador Mr. Akio Miyajima, who has been in Poland since last December, to plant his sakura.
