Dracaena draco functions under conditions of periodic water scarcity. The role of D. draco leaf rosettes in extracting and storing water from the atmosphere was analyzed. Based on morpho-anatomical observations and wetting angle measurements, it was determined that the rosette leaf surface is a mosaic of hydrophilic and hydrophobic properties. In turn, the epiphysis of the leaf acts as a water storage facility. Thus, during rainless periods, rosettes of leaves D. draco Have the ability to absorb water from fog deposits.
