NFOŚ FlorNatur ROBiA Project.
Between 2013 and 2015, as a result of the project "Population assessment and conservation of the ex situ selected wild species of rare and endangered plants in Poland - FlorNatur ROBiA" a network of regional seed banks was created and seeds of 33 species of protected, rare or endangered plants were collected from 75 sites across Poland. In addition, soil samples from the sites where the seeds were collected were collected and analyzed. Some of the soil samples were preserved at low temperatures. At the same time, the project created a database to improve the exchange of data on the current status of seed banks at all project participants. It was also possible to link the new regional seed banks with the nationwide ones already in operation at: PAN Botanical Garden - CZRB in Powsin and LBG Kostrzyca. The rules for the exchange of seed samples between banks were defined, as well as the rules for depositing selected samples in cryogenic conditions. In addition, an extensive project website was created (www.robia.pl), where one can find detailed information on its implementation and the results obtained. The FlorNaturOB and FlorNaturROBiA projects paved the way for the next FlorIntegral project.
