A great tragedy has recently struck many residents of Poland. The rise in the water level in the Oder River basin caused the phenomenon of flooding, or at least the threat of flooding, in the provinces of Lower Silesia, Opole, Silesia and Lubuskie. The Botanical Garden of the Polish Academy of Sciences in Powsin immediately set out to help, in particular supporting the Janusz Korczak Kindergarten and Elementary School in Nowy Swietow, in the Biała Glucholaska Valley.

Our sincere thanks to: Natalia Kostiuk, Michal Kravtsov, Marcin Kotowski, Krzysztof Rudzki, Oleksandr Kostiuk, Grzegorz Milewski and Artur Podsiadlo for their active participation and assistance in this project. We thank all the Garden's employees for their donations and financial and moral support.

We send separate thanks to the company Dahua Technology Poland, which organized in-kind and material assistance.

Meanwhile, we wish those affected by the flood disaster perseverance and hope for a better, safer tomorrow.
