In accordance with Decision No. 40/2021 of the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences dated November 10, 2021 on the Rules and Regulations for the Appointment of Directors of Auxiliary Scientific Units of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Competition Commission for the Competition for the Position of Director of the Auxiliary Scientific Unit operating under the name of the Polish Academy of Sciences Botanical Garden - Center for the Preservation of Biodiversity in Powsin, appointed by Decision No. 37/2024 of the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences dated October 9, 2024, has selected the candidacy of Prof. Dr. Arkadiusz Nowak for the position of director of the auxiliary scientific unit operating under the name of the Polish Academy of Sciences Botanical Garden - Center for the Preservation of Biodiversity in Powsin.

As a result of this competition, as of March 1, 2025, the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences entrusted Prof. Arkadiusz Nowak with the position of director of the auxiliary scientific unit operating under the name of the Polish Academy of Sciences Botanical Garden - Center for the Preservation of Biological Diversity in Powsin, for a four-year term, i.e. until February 28, 2029.
