In the present study, it was shown that the secretion of "dragon's blood" is not only a defensive reaction triggered by external factors (such as a cut or infection), but also an integral part of the normal development of the leaves and tissue covering the trunk of dragon trees Dracaena draco, D. cinnabari i D. tamaranae.
