PAN Botanical Garden - Center for the Preservation of Biodiversity in Powsin is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. On the occasion of this event, a meeting of the Board of Trustees and a plenary meeting of Division II of Biological and Agricultural Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences were held at the Garden on May 15 and 16.

During the plenary meeting, Prof. Dr. Arkadiusz Nowak, director of the PAS Botanical Garden in Powsin, gave a lecture entitled "Impact of climate change on floristic and phytocenotic diversity."

Participants of these meetings had the opportunity to tour the Garden and learn about its various collections. At this time of year, rhododendrons and azaleas were particularly impressive.

The meeting also adopted a resolution on the evaluation of journals of institutes and committees of Division II of PAN published with PAN affiliation. Faculty members, meanwhile, familiarized themselves with the scientific achievements of the candidates and gave their opinions on them as members of the Academy of Young Scientists in the elections to be held on June 20, 2024, during the PAN General Assembly.
