Last Friday, May 26, a floral meadow sowing action took place on the grounds of the collection of Asian plants, as part of the inauguration of the "Poland Blooms" project.
In addition to Garden staff, the action was attended by representatives of Ministry of Climate and Environmentvisas, State Water Management Wody Polskie and members Foundation Zaangażowani.pl.

It is worth sowing a meadow not only in the garden, but also in squares, next to buildings or even in pots, as it significantly enriches biodiversity. In addition, floral meadows have many advantages, including the fact that they perfectly bind moisture in the soil and store twice as much water as a lawn thanks to a complex root system, which makes the plants draw water from deeper layers of the ground, which reduces the heat of the environment during hot weather.
The good news is also that flower meadows do not require intensive watering or frequent mowing (1-2 times a year is enough). In addition to retaining water in the soil, they look idyllic and charming and provide habitat for pollinating insects.
