After many years of preparation, the "Encyclopedia of the World's Biomes" was published, co-authored by our Garden's Director of Scientific Affairs, Professor Arkadiusz Nowak, who, together with his team, described the Grasslands and Shrublands of Kazakhstan and Middle Asia.
The five-volume collective work is a unique work dedicated to a global synthesis of biomes, taking into account the latest developments in biogeography and ecology. All of the book's chapters share a common thematic order, covering the importance of biodiversity, major anthropogenic stressors and trends, changing climatic conditions, and strategies for protecting vegetation in an increasingly human-transformed world.
