On August 17, a delegation from the Botanical Garden in Astana (Kazakhstan) flew to the Powsin Garden for a visit of several days. The visiting scientists were Serik Kubentayev, Klara Izbastina, Daniar Alibekov and Balsulu Kubentayeva. The main purpose of this visit is to develop botanical, phytosociological, ecological and ethnobotanical research in Kazakhstan, Central and Central Asia and Poland.

We agreed that in the first years of mutual cooperation, the themes of the projects will be:

- Ethnobotanical research in Kazakhstan
- Phytosociological studies of steppe, petrophyton vegetation and semi-desert vegetation
Braun-Blanquet method

- underground biodiversity research
- Ecological research related to climate change and desertification

The goal of the research will be discoveries that will be published in journals of international cooperation. In addition, we have agreed that the two gardens will implement exchanges of interns, staff and specialists in various fields present in the research and operation of these institutions.
