Research issues:

  • Use of molecular techniques in plant biodiversity assessment and conservation
  • Protection under conditions ex situ endangered, protected and rare species of the flora of Poland
  • Population genetics and conservation genetics of populations of rare and endangered plant species with special emphasis on factors shaping the genetic structure of populations of low abundance plants
  • Effectiveness of various forms of protection ex situ (maintaining collections of living plants, cryogenic preservation of seeds) in terms of securing the genetic diversity of populations of natural wild plant species
  • Determine conservation guidelines for safeguarding the genetic diversity of rare and protected plant species based on the distribution of genetic variation in natural populations
