By Resolution No. 1/2024 of the Chapter of the Michal Oczapowski Medal of August 19, 2024 on the award of the Michal Oczapowski Medal by Division II of Biological and Agricultural Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences in the year 2024, the medal for outstanding contributions to the development of experimental plant biology today, December 12, was awarded to Prof. Dr. Jan Jaroslaw Rybczynski, a long-time employee of our Garden.

Mr. Professor is an Honorary Member of the Polish Botanical Society, and previously its president for many years. He was awarded the Prof. Wladyslaw Szafer medal for his scientific achievements.

The main objective of Mr. Professor's scientific work is to learn and use the morphogenetic abilities of the plant cell in its manipulation, and the objects of his research are monocotyledonous, dicotyledonous and spore plants.
