The President of the Polish Academy of Sciences announces a competition for the post of director of the PAN Botanical Garden for a 4-year term.
Acting pursuant to Decision No. 62/2019 of the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences dated November 28, 2019, as amended by Decision No. 13/2020 dated February 14, 2020, as amended by Decision No. 37/2020 dated October 15, 2020, on the regulations for the appointment of directors of auxiliary scientific units of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the competition committee appointed by Decision No. 39/2020 of the President of the Polish Academy of Sciences of November 3, 2020. on the appointment of a competition committee to select a candidate for the director of the auxiliary scientific unit operating under the name of the Polish Academy of Sciences Botanical Garden - Center for the Preservation of Biodiversity in Powsin, announces a competition for the position of director of the auxiliary scientific unit operating under the name of the Polish Academy of Sciences Botanical Garden - Center for the Preservation of Biodiversity in Powsin (hereinafter referred to as "PAN Botanical Garden - Center for the Preservation of Biodiversity in Powsin").
The competition consists of two stages including:
- Formal evaluation of applications for the competition and assessment of the scientific /professional qualifications of candidates on the basis of the documents submitted;
- Assessment of the knowledge and aptitude of candidates to head an auxiliary scientific unit on the basis of an interview.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:
A candidate for the position of director of the auxiliary scientific unit operating under the name of PAN Botanical Garden - Center for the Preservation of Biological Diversity in Powsin may be a person who:
- Has at least a master's degree in biological, agricultural or related sciences;
- has five years of work experience in scientific institutions, including not less than two years in a managerial position;
- has not been sentenced by a final judgment for an intentional crime or a fiscal crime;
- enjoys full public rights.
THE CANDIDATE'S APPLICATION SHALL INCLUDE:
- the concept of functioning and development of the auxiliary scientific unit operating under the name of PAN Botanical Garden - Center for the Preservation of Biological Diversity in Powsin, developed by the entrant in the form of a multimedia presentation (15 min);
- information on the previous course of professional work, including the responsibilities of the positions and functions held, the period of their performance, the number of subordinate employees and professional achievements, as well as the titles or degrees held, submitted in writing and on an electronic medium;
- certified true copies of supporting documents:
- career history;
- title or degree held;
- a statement that upon assuming the position of director of the auxiliary scientific unit operating under the name of PAN Botanical Garden - Center for the Preservation of Biological Diversity in Powsin, it will be the candidate's primary place of work;
- A statement on the exercise of full public rights;
- A statement of no criminal record for an intentional crime or fiscal crime;
- the statement referred to in Article 7 paragraph 1 of the Act of October 18, 2006 on disclosure of information on documents of state security bodies from 1944 - 1990 and the content of such documents (Journal of Laws of 2020, item 306, as amended);
- statement of consent to the processing of personal data in the framework of the competition for the position of director, in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of individuals with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation) - RODO.

The competition announcement was published on December 2, 2020.
The deadline for submission of applications is January 5, 2021. The application deadline is determined by the date of receipt of the application at the Division II of Biological and Agricultural Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences.
The planned date for assuming the position of director of the auxiliary scientific unit operating under the name of PAN Botanical Garden - Center for the Preservation of Biodiversity in Powsin - March 1, 2021.
